Annual Hospice Dinner will be Monday, November 6, 6:00 PM at American Legion Post 60. FUMC is asked to provide desserts. Desserts may be taken to the Legion by noon on November 6 or left at the church on November 5 and Linda Miller will take them to the dinner. Halloween Outreach
Trick or Treat outreach will be Tuesday, October 31, 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Individually wrapped candy donations may be left at the church office until October 30. Volunteers to help on trick or treat night are welcome. Please see a member of the Melvin C. McBee Fellowship Sunday School Class for details.
Pastor Appreciation Month
October is a special time to show appreciation to our Pastor for all he does for us throughout the year. The meal October 29 will be to honor the Hoffman family. A card basket will be provided for notes or gifts. If you cannot be there but wish to give a gift or card, they may be left at the church office throughout the month and will be given to Pastor Doug.
Youth Group Fun Night
September 10 beginning at 5:00 PM the Youth will be having a Fun Night with Karaoke, archery, basketball, outdoor games and a bonfire. There will be pizza and drinks provided. We encourage youth to come out and bring their friends for an evening of fun.
Second Movie Night
Friday September 8 @ 7:00 PM come join us at The Blue for our second movie night. It will be a family night as we screen the movie “Utopia”. Popcorn and drinks will be served.
Go Friends Training Date
Adult leader training for new volunteers, and subs, Thursday September 14 @ 1:00 PM. If anyone cannot make that date come on September 21 @

Youth Group Summer Calendar
07/16 – Swim Night!
The Youth will meet at 4:30 at the blue and leave for the Wood’s Resort for a night of swimming, fellowship, and Pizza! Please provide swim gear and sun screen. The youth will return to the Blue at 7:30 – Special Thanks to Nancy Fairall in arranging his Activity
07/23 – Life Skills Night!
The Youth Group meets at its usual time to learn practical life skills. Whether that means changing a tire or baking a quiche, good times are guranteed.
07/30 – Service Night!
A Chance for the youth to give back to their community through service. The youth will meet at their usual time, and leave from the blue.
08/06 – Swim Night II!
Swimming at Cacapon National Park. The schedule will be as it was for the Woods Swim trip.
Camp Harmison Day Camp
There will be a day camp held at Camp Harmison July 31-August 4 for students entering grades 3, 4, 5 in the fall 2017 AND August 7-11 for students entering grades 6, 7, 8. 2017 VBS
Vacation Bible School is on its way and this time it’s a family affair! This year’s theme is “Camp Out” so mark your calendars for July 27 & 28 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at The Blue. We will be starting the program each evening with dinner for participants and families. VBS closing will be Sunday, July 30 at The Blue during the 10:00 AM combined 5th Sunday Worship Service. Please pray for the success of this important event and consider how you might contribute in making this the brightest evenings of the summer for our children.
